at home

We spent the whole last week at home due illnesses and such. Common colds, luckily. Both little ones had too much energy (yet too little) and the boredom which normally transforms into creative play had no where to go.

So we played all the games we have, set up our tepee, played some more and drew and painted all we could. It was an exhausting week and I'm glad we're back to the normal rhythm of things.

more warm-up

Continuing with small scale I knitted a hat. A slouchy tam sort of hat with the same ingredients as my first warm-up exercise. One cable and waffle stitch - this time the waffle stitch is modified to suit better this project. Fun little knit with no big fuss. Warmest hat I've ever made, which goes well with the cold winter here.

honey cardigan

Remember Honey Cardigan? The pattern is now ready!
The cardigan is easily knitted from the top down in one piece and features beautiful cabled yoke and I-cord finishing.

Sizes: x-s, s, m, l, x-l
Finished bust circumference: 32, 35, 35, 40, 44 inches (82, 90, 90, 100, 111 cm)
Yarn: 1100-1440 yards of worsted weight yarn
Gauge: 18 sts and 25 rows in 4" (in Stockinette stitch)

For the yoke there is both written and charted instructions.

4.90

I've been wearing mine very often since I finished it and it starts to look like that. I would probably consider substituting the Hjertegarn Lima with some other worsted weight yarn...

warm-up

There's been a little of this and a little of that, mostly snow and snow and snow. Frost and freeze. The past January was the coldest I can remember right now. And the winter has been amazingly beautiful and magical.

I've been knitting some kind of small warm-up exercises. For example this waffle vest, with one cable. Using some random yarn from stash, I first planned a cardigan - but ripped of the sleeves when I realized how crazy-warm the whole thing was. Now it's perfect. Short, fitted and still warm. So warm.
